• Main Investigations: current status of the ostomy care in patients with colorectal cancer: a prospective study in Spanish coloproctology surgery units.
• Hereditary cancer: towards an accurate estimate of risk. Supported by a grant of the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
• Multidisciplinary group: Phase II study of bevacizumab, capecitabine and radiotherapy in advanced resectable rectal cancer.
• Spanish multicenter project: Local recurrence rate and survival of patients with rectal cancer undergoing total mesorectal excision.
• Investigator of the European Multicenter Study: a phase III, randomised, double-blind, dose-response, stratified, placebo-controlled study evaluating the Ssfety and efficacy of SPD476 versus placebo over 104 weeks in the revention of recurrence of diverticulitis.

• Clinical double-blind randomized prospective therapeutic usefulness of Gastrografin on postoperative ileus in colorectal surgery. Supported by Spanish Government
• Grant Randomised clinical study of gastrografin administration in patients with adhesive small bowel obstruction. Supported by a scientific foundation grant.
• Principal investigator Prognostic factors for survival in complicated colon cancer. Multicenter randomized study in patients with colorectal cancer with unresectable metastases. Impact of resection vs. no resection of the primary tumour as a survival factor.
